CITY OF LEEDS NATIONAL QUALIFIER, JOHN CHARLES CENTRE FOR SPORT (50M)

    15-17TH APRIL 2022

Medals were hard to come by at this meet but City’s swimmers came home with one gold, two silver and a bronze along with three club records.

Following her success at the recent National Championships it was sixteen year old Rebecca Dunn of Guiseley who looked impressive as she claimed gold in the fifteen years and over 200m breaststroke in a time of 2.42.65. She followed this up with a club record of 1.16.03 in the shorter 100m event to place eighth.

Gina Warrior produced excellent swims in her favoured backstroke events and finished in silver medal position in the fifteen years and over 50m backstroke in a time of 31.46 and in sixth place in the 200m backstroke in a time of 2.28.26

Ciara O’Carroll had four top ten finishes, her highest place being second in the thirteen years and over 50m freestyle in a time of 29.71.

Other top ten finishes were Evelyn Gledhill (4), Quinn- Austin Kelly (4), Freddy Dean (3, Sophia Gledhill (2), Eliza Naglik (2) Dawid Naglik (2), Laura Temple (1) and Will Skiggs (1)

All swimmers train with Bradford Council’s Leisure Services Aquatic Competition Programme under the guidance of Senior Coach Andy Pearce and Development Coach Sarah Fisher.
